Broadway Corridor

Prosper Portland the Portland Housing Bureau bought the 14-acre former Central Post Office site in 2016. This new downtown neighborhood is envisioned as a unique, diverse, vibrant, sustainable, mixed-use, dense urban district seamlessly integrated with public transportation. The first vertical project will be an affordable housing project developed in partnership with Home Forward and Urban League. The project will be a 14-story, 230-unit affordable rental housing development, providing homes for over 400 people in need. The project will serve residents earning 30-60% AMI, with 50 units supported by rent assistance and 35 designated for permanent supportive housing for families. The development will also feature an early learning center, a workforce development center, and a community room overlooking a second-story roof deck. The project is slated to break ground in late 2026.
