Anderson is working toward a master’s in public policy at Portland State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science.  She is the associate editor of PSU’s Hatfield Graduate Journal of Public Affairs and interned with Representative Carla Piluso during the 2015 Oregon legislative session.  She volunteers with the Providence Child Center and also has volunteer experience as a political science research assistant at PSU.

“Serving on the board gives me an opportunity to find ways to help the community as I continue my education in public policy creation and implementation,” she said.

Home Forward is governed by a nine member volunteer commission.  The City of Portland, Multnomah County, and City of Gresham each appoint commissioners who in turn are approved by the Portland City Council.  One of the seats is reserved for someone who participates in a Home Forward housing program.
