Draft Annual Plan Available for Review

Each year Home Forward creates an annual plan as part of its participation in the federal Moving to Work program.  The plan presents policy changes the agency would like to make using its MTW deregulation status.  The draft of the upcoming annual plan now is available for review and comment.  New activities include:

  • Allowing landlords participating in the Section 8 rent assistance program to self-certify that they have made minor repairs, a step that will streamline program participation requirements for landlords and save inspection staff time at Home Forward.
  • Limiting Section 8 participants from transferring to areas where rent assistance voucher costs are higher to conserve program dollars.

The plan also provides an update on rent reform at Home Forward and describes the various initiatives underway in support of the agency's strategic directions.
